HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A 18-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man are in jail after a carjacking investigation that led to a police pursuit in Hampton on March 4.
Hampton Police say that at about 12:33 p.m., Public Safety Communications received a call in reference to a carjacking that had just happened in the 100 block of Spanish Trail.

The investigation revealed that the victim, a 66-year-old Hampton woman, was getting out of her vehicle when she was approached by Alice Robinson, of Hampton.
Police say Robinson displayed a firearm and demanded the vehicle before fleeing the area in the victim’s Green 2000 Honda Civic with Virginia license plates, WNW5894.
Officers located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Police say “the suspect disregarded the officer’s emergency equipment and a short vehicle pursuit was initiated.”
The pursuit ended in the area of Roane Drive and West Gilbert Street in Hampton when police say Robinson collided with another passing vehicle. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
Robinson was taken into custody and charged with carjacking, use of a firearm, conspiracy, felony evade and elude law enforcement, reckless driving fail to maintain control, driving without a license, no seatbelt, failure to obey stop sign and failure to obey a highway sign.
On March 11, police said a second suspect, Alonzo Q. Tucker, was arrested and charged with one count of robbery, one count of conspiracy to commit robbery and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Police said that Tucker and Robinson were both behind a business robbery March 3 in 900 block of Aberdeen Road, and they also charged Robinson for her involvement in a carjacking in the 2000 block of Newton Road.
Both are in custody at the Hampton City Jail.
