HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – A man is dead after a shooting on Towne Center Way Friday, according to police.

Hampton Police said officers were on the scene of a shooting in the 1st block of Towne Center Way. The call came in at 6:34 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a man inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Police said members of the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene.

Hampton police later identified the victim as 31-year-old Brandon Ward of Norfolk.

Police said the motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.
