HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — One of two men shot on North King Street in Hampton Wednesday afternoon has died, in what is being classified as a homicide, police said.
Hampton Police got the call around 4:11 p.m. to respond to a shooting in the 1500 block of North King Street. Officers arrived to find two men who had been shot inside a residence there.

North King Street residents told 10 On Your Side that they are calling for people to put the guns down, so another life isn’t lost.
“I never understood at this point why guns seem like the answer,” said North King Street resident Tyshawn Jackson. “It can be solved quicker and easier than that, but I’m old school I guess.”
Members of the Hampton Police Division’s Major Crimes Unit are investigating the motives and circumstances of the shooting.
