Murder suspect arrested in 2023 shooting at Hampton 7-Eleven

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Police have arrested a man wanted on a murder charge after a double shooting at a 7-Eleven on W. Mercury Boulevard in July of last year.

Police said Dwayne Demario Marrow was arrested Tuesday in Newport News without incident.


The double shooting happened on July 16, 2023 at a 7-Eleven in the 4900 block of W. Mercury Blvd. One of the victims survived, but another, 27-year-old Jahleel Angus, died at the scene.

Marrow has been charged with one count of murder, one count of aggravated assault, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
