On Saturday evening, Hampton police said they made an arrest in connection to the homicide. The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Alonzo Trower Jr., of Hampton. He’s charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and one count of shooting in an occupied building. He’s in custody at the Hampton City Jail.

When they got to the scene, officers found the victim shot. Tyzuaan Staton-Fuller, a 20-year-old Hampton man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation of the shooting revealed that the incident occurred inside the building.

Officials say all parties involved have been identified and are cooperating.

A spokesperson from Howmet Aerospace told 10 On Your Side the shooting was an isolated incident that appears to have resulted from a dispute outside of work.

“Our thoughts go out to the employees and families of this unfortunate tragedy,” said the spokesperson. “We continue to cooperate with the Hampton Police Department in the investigation.”

Officials at Howmet Aerospace have since canceled all shifts for Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15, and asked all employees not to report for work unless they have been specifically instructed to do so by management.

Additionally, counseling will also be available to employees as they return to work, officials said.

The company also cancelled a May 21 job fair because of the tragic incident.

No further information has been released.
