Gloucester library to open cooling center amid heat advisory

GLOUCESTER COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – The Gloucester County Library-Virginia and Point Branch are set to open cooling centers Thursday and Friday to help people cool off from the heat.

According to the National Weather Service, a heat advisory is in effect for much of the area, including Gloucester County, for Thursday, July 31 and Friday, Aug. 1.

The library will be open during regular hours from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., located 6920 Main Street Gloucester, and Point Branch will be open during regular hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., located 2354 York Crossing Drive.
