COURTLAND, Va. (WAVY) — The Franklin-Southampton County Fair announced that they will have to cancel this year’s fair due to storm damage.
The fair was scheduled to run from Aug. 7-10 this year. However, after heavy winds and severe weather passed the region, the fair grounds were damaged.
” … Thankfully no one was injured but, unfortunately with this just days before our fair we will have to cancel this year’s fair,” a Facebook post by the fair reads. “We appreciate your thoughts and prayers at this time. Please do not come down to the fairgrounds at this time, the grounds are closed.”
