FRANKLIN, Va. (WAVY) — A 16-year-old has been arrested as police investigate a recent shooting in Franklin.

Police say on the evening of Sunday, July 23, officers were dispatched to Berkley Court Apartments for a report of shots fired. There they found a vehicle that was damaged by gunfire in the 600 block of Cameron Street.

While they were investigating, they got a call that a gunshot victim was nearby in the 600 block of Pace Street.

The 19-year-old victim was taken to Bon Secours Southampton Memorial Hospital and then Norfolk General Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

On Friday, detectives arrested a 16-year-old Franklin resident in connection with the shooting.
