VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Four people were transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire at the Princess Anne Health & Rehabilitation Center on Saturday.

Virginia Beach Fire Department responded to the incident on Landstown Centre around 5:40 p.m. As a result of the fire, 26 people were displaced. Management was able to relocate the residents within their facilities in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake.

According to VBFD, an investigator determined an accidental electrical fire was the cause.

The facility confirmed a fire occurred at the site in a social media post:

“Last evening, a small fire began when an electrical device belonging to one of our residents malfunctioned. Thank you to our staff’s swift response, along with the local Fire & EMS. The fire was easily contained in that room, and no one was injured. We appreciate our local firefighters and staff who worked together to keep all our residents safe.”
