17-year-old killed in overnight shooting in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A 17-year-old is dead after an overnight shooting in Chesapeake, according to police.

Saturday around 3:30 a.m. police were called to the 3000 block of Parkside Drive for the report of gunshots.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 17-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim received first aid at the scene and was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police said this is a homicide investigation.

No suspect information is available at this time, according to police. Police urge anyone with information about this incident to come forward.
