CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — The Chesapeake Fire Department responded to a fire at NextEra Energy Solar Farm in Southern Chesapeake Wednesday morning.
Just after 11:30 a.m., crews were called to 1341 Shillelagh Road after receiving reports of smoke in the back of the property.
Upon arrival, company representatives led crews to the fire. By 12:11 p.m. the fire was under control.
Officials said a single inverter box was damaged in the fire. Company representatives isolated the damaged components and will be able to continue operations while repairs are made.
No one was hurt. The fire was ruled accidental.
