WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — The Big Bad Wolf name will live on at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

The posted a video on social media featuring some of the responses.

“Just call it Big Bad Wolf,” wrote one person.

“Big Bad Wolf 2?” asked another.

“We are thrilled by the overwhelming enthusiasm and passion you all showed during the naming contest for our newest coaster,” said Busch Gardens in their announcement on Tuesday. “With over 30,000 votes cast, it’s clear how passionate our fans are about Busch Gardens Williamsburg. We also heard you loud and clear through comments and emails, as many suggested that we honor the legacy of an old favorite while launching an all-new family-friendly attraction.”

The new rollercoaster, the park’s 11th, will pay homage to the fan-favorite ride that closed in 2009. Billed as “North America’s longest inverted family coaster,” it also be in the Germany section of the park and feature an abandoned Bavarian village like the old Big Bad Wolf.

“This attraction is unlike anything we’ve ever done before,” said Kevin Lembke, Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s park president. “We’ve created an experience that combines storytelling with family-friendly thrills. Guests will feel completely immersed in the story of the Bavarian village, as the sound of screams and the echo of a howling wolf creates chaos in the familiar town.”

Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge is expected to open in spring 2025.
