Yesterday, I was driving around with the air conditioner on in the car. It wasn’t very hot, but it felt hot with the warm temps and the higher humidity. High temps made it into the upper 70s to low 80s.
Today we will cool down and dry out. Course drying out is both good and bad right now. Yes, it will be more comfortable with dew points dropping into the 40s. However, as I mentioned before, the ground is PARCHED. We’ve barely had any rain so far this month, and the whole 7 day looks pretty dry now.
A cold front is dropping through the region today. It will sink to our south this afternoon.
The wind is going to rev up behind the front. Winds will gust up to 25mph.
The offshore low is indirectly contributing to the north breeze picking up. However, it will stay far to our east. The breeze will keep our high temps in the upper 60s to low 70s later today.
It will be cool with the breeze at times. Then tonight the winds will be lighter and out of the north. We’ll have clear skies and dry air. So low temps will drop to the 40s.
Tomorrow we’ll have nice weather. High pressure will build into the area. We’ll have a light north breeze with lots of sunshine. That breeze will keep the high temps in the upper 60s.
Humidity is dropping today, and it will stay down Friday. It will go up a little on Saturday with the temps. Then it will drop big time on Sunday.
Again, there’s no rain in the 7 day forecast as of right now. Other than a stray shower or sprinkle on Saturday, we will probably stay parched. It’s not good for the grass as this is the Fall planting season. It’s also tough to put down fertilizer as you need some water for it to soak in and spread out.
The tropics are still quiet for now. However, there’s a lot of folks talking about the long-range GFS model. Yes, it’s been showing a (Possible) large system forming in the Gulf over the next 10-12 days. However, this is way too far out to have any kind accurate forecast. It could be way off by the time we get there. For now just keep checking back for updates.
