PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Portsmouth police said they are investigating an attempted murder-suicide on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in Paradise Creek Nature Park. Upon arrival, officers found a woman who was deceased and a juvenile boy who had sustained injuries. The juvenile victim was transported to a local hospital, and was treated and released.
A police spokesperson confirmed the woman found dead had apparently committed suicide.
At this time names will not be released to protect the privacy of the juvenile victim and family.
