PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A second man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and faces additional charges in connection to a March homicide on Chestnut Street in Portsmouth, police said Wednesday.

Omario Keyshawn Evans, 23, has not only been charged with second-degree murder, but he has also been charged with malicious shooting, cut or stab and the use of a firearm in commission of a felony in the March 17 death of Damarcus Dildy.

Around 2:15 a.m. on the morning of the murder, police responded to the 2400 block of Chestnut Street for a shooting, and when officers arrived at the scene, they found the 29-year-old Dildy with multiple gunshot wounds, according to police. Dildy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police previously arrested Omar Tyrone Evans, 38, in connection to Dildy’s death, back on April 8. At that time, police said investigators with the Major Crime Unit were stil searching for Evans and Amari Deon Adams, 21.
