WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. (WAVY) – A rocket carrying nine student experiments to suborbital space launched early Tuesday morning off of Wallops Island.

The rocket launched just after 6 a.m. through the RockSat-X program, which helps students to design, build and fly a sounding rocket on a Terrier-Improved Malemute sounding rocket.

Applications for the 2024-2025 Rock-Sat-X program are currently open. More information about the program can be found here.
