NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Three men and one woman were shot overnight in a shopping center near Norfolk State University.

Norfolk police said all four victims, three men and a woman, went to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with gunshot wounds. All of the injuries are considered to be non life-threatening, police said. The first call to police came in around 2:31 a.m.

A witness told WAVY’s KaMaria Braye that they heard several gunshots while inside the 7-Eleven in the 1500 block of Brambleton, where police say the shooting happened. They said there were 15-20 cars in the parking lot full of NSU students when the shooting started.

They had to duck and take cover in the store, and it sounded like multiple people were firing shots, the witness said.

No other details have been released by police at this time, including suspect information. Check back for updates.
