SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Two men behind a string of armed robberies in Suffolk, and a woman who prosecutors say tried to cover their trail, have all been convicted.

Harvey Lee Lewis IV, Dennis Lee Adamson Jr., and Ieisha Adamson were all found guilty on Wednesday by a federal grand jury, the Department of Justice announced.

Prosecutors say Lewis, a 36-year-old from Suffolk, and Dennis Adamson, a 29-year-old from Portsmouth, were the two that carried out the armed robberies at convenience stores from November 2020 through February 2022.

On several instances, Lewis fired his gun into the ceiling of the stores as he entered. In one robbery on Feb. 3, 2022 at the EZ Food Mart & Deli in Suffolk, Lewis fired several rounds and nearly struck a store employee.

Prosecutors say the pair also committed the robberies separately, with Lewis robbing a 7-Eleven on Feb. 1, 2022. Adamson meanwhile robbed a Dollar General in Portsmouth on October 14, 2022, months after Lewis had been arrested in the case.

Ieisha Adamson, 32, was arrested after Lewis asked her during a pre-trial detention call to remove items, including a box of ammunition, from a secret compartment in his vehicle. Prosecutors say Ieisha Adamson no longer had the ammunition box when police encountered her about two hours later.

Lewis faces a mandatory minimum of 24 years in prison after being convicted of conspiracy to interfere with commerce by means of robbery, six counts of interference with commerce by means of robbery, three counts of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, and felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Dennis Adamson faces 17 years minimum on charges of conspiracy to interfere with commerce by means of robbery, six counts of interference with commerce by means of robbery, and two counts of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.

Ieisha Adamson could get up to 10 years in prison after being convicted of accessory after the fact and misprision of a felony.

The trio are expected to be sentenced on September 19.
