2 dead, 1 in critical condition following triple shooting in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Two people are dead and one is in critical condition following a shooting Thursday night in the 5600 block of New Colony Drive in Virginia Beach, city police said.

Police dispatch said the shooting call came in at 9:53 p.m. When police arrived on the scene, they found three victims. One man was pronounced dead on the scene. The two other victims were transported to a local hospital, where one man later died.

Police later confirmed with 10 On Your Side that the two victims who died have been identified as Adrian Archer and Justin Varney.

Police say the third victim, which is also a man, is in critical condition.

10 On Your Side’s KaMaria Braye was on the scene and says she spoke with the mother of the victim who died during the shooting. The mother said her son, Adrian, was going to be turning 26 this coming Monday.

A neighbor also spoke with 10 On Your Side and said that he heard about seven gunshots and that he could hear a woman screaming.

Police said they do not have any additional information at this time.

While at the scene, WAVY’s photographer came across a bullet, which he handed over to police.
