HYDE COUNTY, N.C.. (WAVY) — Hyde County officials confirmed a positive case of the coronavirus in the area, but retracted the statement hours later.
Saturday morning, Hyde County state that they have identified a confirmed case in the county, however officials later said the person listed more than one address and “provided a Hyde County address when tested, causing Hyde to be the county of ownership.”
Officials say the person is now in isolation in another county as they investigate others who may have gotten close to the person.
They wanted to reiterate that the person did not travel to Hyde County during or after illness and there has been no contact with any individual in Hyde County during this period.
As of Saturday morning, there are 184 confirmed cases in the state of North Carolina.
