HAMPTON, VA (WAVY) — After 28 long years, the family of a murdered teenager still remains hopeful that one day they will have their cold case solved.

“I just really want to know what happened to here I really do, ” said Rhonda Stubbs, sitting in her Newport News apartment. “There has to be someone that knows something. Has to be.”

Stubbs is the younger sister of Turisha Grant. On February 2nd 1990, Grant’s 18-year-old body was found in a field at the end of East Lewis Road in Hampton, according to Hampton Police. She was found partially naked and it was later determined she had been strangled to death.

Police have never charged anyone with her death.

“Even if they don’t get [the killer] I still want closure for the families sake, my sake and most of all for my dad,” Stubbs said. “I want him to have closure before he passes away.”
