Great White Shark no longer pinging off East Coast

CAPE HATTERAS, NC (WAVY) – A research group says one of its most famous Great White Sharks is no longer sending data from is tracking implant.

OCEARCH tweeted that the battery attached to Mary Lee’s tracker, has likely died and hasn’t sent a ping in several months.


Mary Lee was the most famous Great White the group had been tracking.  Over the time they watched her, the 16 foot long, 3,500 pound shark has been all over the East Coast, from Florida to Boston. She also swam right off the coast of the Outer Banks and Hampton Roads.
