NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Langley Federal Credit Union has donated $125,000 to establish a demand scholarship fund at Norfolk State University, a release states.

The fund aims at providing financial assistance to students in need. Langley presented a check in to NSU President Javaune Adams-Gaston after the senior night ceremonies for the women’s basketball team and cheerleaders on March 8.

“Langley believes that a college education is an important step to changing your life and reaching your potential, and we want to help everyone achieve that goal if that is their desire,” Langley Chief Human Resources Officer Jerome Fowlkes said. “We are a part of the community, and that means we want to invest in the community in any way that we can.”
