NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Williamsburg man was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in prison for attempting to solicit sex with a minor.
Court documents show that on May 25, 2023, Nico Mariano Villegas, 32, offered who he believed was a 14-year-old girl $150 for oral sex by text message. In reality, Villegas was communicating with a Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) agent posing as an underage female on a website commonly used for escorts and adult services.
After exchanging photos, Villegas drove to location where they agreed to meet. Law enforcement attempted to stop Villegas by activating their lights and blocking his vehicle, but Villegas stepped on the gas and smashed into the police vehicles before taking off on foot. He was later found hiding behind a nearby store and arrested.
Villegas’ phone contained copies of the conversations as well as multiple images and videos of child sexual abuse material.
