PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Portsmouth Police are searching for a person who faces first-degree murder and other charges in a May homicide on Dale Drive, police said.

Tony Alonzo Collins Jr., 35, also known as Knuckles, has been charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, malicious shooting, cut or stab, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection to a May 25 homicide of 33-year-old Modrelle Britt, police said.

Collins had previously been labeled a person of interest in the incident.

Collins is described as 6-foot, 180 pounds and is considered armed and dangerous, according to police.

Police responded to a call on the 20 block of Dale Drive around 1:19 a.m. May 25, and when officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as Britt, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
