VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in 2022 on Daytona Drive.
On April 17, 2022 around 6:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Daytona Drive for reports of gunshots.
Officers arrived to the scene and found 32-year-old Alexander Meade suffering from gunshot wounds. Meade was transferred to a local hospital where he later died.
According to officials, Michael Williams Jr. was arrested on Aug. 16, 2023 in connection with the incident and charged with second degree murder.
Williams pled guilty to manslaughter and robbery causing death and was sentenced to 50 years with 40 suspended on May 13, 2024.
