VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A man was arrested on Saturday in connection with a fatal shooting at the Atlantis Apartment complex in Virginia Beach.
Officers with the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) were dispatched to the apartment complex around 3:06 a.m. on June 29 for reports of a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Officers arrived to the scene and found the victim, 24-year-old Jesus Alfredo Jeronimo Can, dead at the scene.
After an investigation, the VBPD SWAT team and Warrant Fugitive Unit arrested 20-year-old Brian James II around 9 p.m. the same day as the shooting.
Police said James was charged with second degree murder and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
