PERQUIMANS, N.C. (WAVY) – An armed man was arrested Monday morning following a brief pursuit on foot, deputies said.

According to officials, around 8:30 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the area of Stokes Street for reports of a Black male wearing a ski mask and carrying a gun.

Prior to arriving at the scene, deputies were able to find a stolen vehicle out of Pasquotank that the suspect had been operating, deputies said. Shortly afterwards, deputies were able to locate the suspect, 23-year-old Kahmile Bowe.

Bowe then fled on foot in the Covent Garden area, brandishing a firearm towards law enforcement before disposing of it.

After a search, deputies were able to locate Bowe and took him into custody without incident. His charges are listed below:

  • Felony possession/sell/buy altered gun serial number
  • Felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle
  • Felony damaging computers
  • Felony assault law enforcement officer with firearm
  • Felony possession of firearm by felon
  • Misdemeanor resisting public officer
  • Misdemeanor communicating threats

Bowe is currently being held under a $600,000 bond at Albemarle District Jail.
