Abandoned dog dies in front of Norfolk SPCA

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — An abandoned dog died in front of Norfolk SPCA, according to a press release.

Thursday night, two people were seen on surveillance camera abandoning a female dog at the front door of the SPCA.


According to the SPCA, at around 6 a.m., the dog managed to escape through the kennel she was dropped off in and ran into highly congested traffic. The dog was hit multiple times and ultimately succumbed to her injuries.

The Norfolk Animal Protection Unit is currently investigating the incident. One of the suspects, seen below, was caught on surveillance camera:
