YORKTOWN, Va. (WAVY) — Three juvenile males arrested following a break-in attempt at an Exxon in the Tabb area of York County were also linked to other burglary incidents, authorities say.
Around 1:50 a.m. Friday, the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 3100 block of Big Bethel Road for a report of three individuals attempting to break into the convenience store.
Once deputies arrived, the three suspects fled on foot to the surrounding neighborhood.
Aided by additional deputies, all three suspects were captured and arrested after a two-hour search through woods and the surrounding neighborhoods.
Additionally, investigators say they determined the three suspects were involved in recent burglaries at a BK’s Tobacco and Vape in Yorktown on Sept. 28, and an attempted burglary at a Tabb Exxon on Sept. 29. Investigators also discovered that two additional juveniles were involved in the incidents.
The five juveniles are charged with burglary, attempted burglary, conspiracy to commit a felony and possession of burglary tools. Three of the five juveniles were ordered detained in the Merrimac Detention Center.
