ARLINGTON, TX (WAVY) – Chesapeake’s Andrew Brown heard his name called in the fifth round of this year’s NFL Draft.
The Oscar Smith High School and University of Virginia graduate was taken with the 158th overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals, and is the third Cavalier ever drafted by the organization.
An All-American and the Gatorade National Player of the Year while at Oscar Smith, Brown finished his four-year Cavalier career with 26.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 quarterback sacks.
The 6-foot-4, 285 pound defensive lineman was taken only eight picks after his former Oscar Smith teammate Josh Sweat was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles. Brown will also join his UVA teammate Micah Kiser, who was selected with the 147th pick by the Los Angeles Rams.
