NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Aldi is looking to open another store in Hampton Roads.
Officials with the city of Norfolk confirmed the company is looking to open a store at a former Farm Fresh location on 21st Street in the Ghent neighborhood.
Lori Crouch, Norfolk’s corporate communications director, said Aldi has filed a conditional use permit for that location. There are several Aldi locations across the region already.
The 21st Street Farm Fresh store closed earlier this year SUPERVALU, Inc. sold it and 20 other locations. A Virginia Beach residents acquired Farm Fresh locations in Portsmouth, Newport News and Virginia Beach earlier this year.
