NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Four men are in custody after a police chase that went from I-64 in Chesapeake to the Norfolk Premium Outlets on Friday afternoon.
In a press release, police said the chase started around 2:25 p.m. after Chesapeake police tried to serve a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear to a wanted man in the 1000 block of Eden Way, at the intersection with Greenbrier Parkway.
Police say the suspect and three other men in a black Nissan four-door pickup truck fled the scene, and got onto I-64 heading north toward Virginia Beach.
Officers eventually lost sight of the vehicle near the Northampton Blvd. exit in Norfolk, but learned the vehicle was involved in a crash at the Norfolk Premium Outlets off Northampton Blvd.
Three of the men in the truck were taken into custody at the scene, and the suspect, who was driving the truck, was arrested by Virginia State Police after a 10-minute foot chase.
24-year-old Korey James was charged with felony eluding, multiple counts of fraud/forgery, uttering, obstruction of justice, hit-and-run and numerous traffic violations, according to Chesapeake Police.
Troopers are investigating the hit-and-run at the outlets, Chesapeake police say, and all of the occupants of the vehicle that was struck were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Chesapeake police are still investigating and say additional information isn’t available at this time.
