JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — A 20-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly driving under the influence and other charges.
Around 1 a.m., a James City County officer pulled over Tyler Joseph Seymour after seeing him drive too closely to the vehicle in front of him.
The officer says Seymour had to brake multiple times to avoid hitting the vehicle he was tailgating and when he made a right turn, he turned into the left lane of traffic.
Police say the officer smelled alcohol coming from Seymour when he approached the vehicle, so he conducted field sobriety tests and took Seymour into custody for driving under the influence.
During a search of Seymour’s car, police say smoking devices with residue, a jar of marijuana and a fake Colorado ID indicating Seymour was over 21 years old were found.
Seymour has been charged with a DUI, driving after illegally consuming alcohol, possession of marijuana, possession of a factitious license, following too close and improper turning.
