PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – A change in command for Carrier Strike Group 12 happened recently in Naval Station Norfolk, where Rear Admiral Erik Eslich was relieved by the new commander Rear Admiral Thomas P. Moninger, a native of Williamsburg.
Moninger joins after a decorated career full of leadership assignments, including his service as commanding officer of the USS Arleigh Burke, and he says that he is looking forward to the opportunities and challenges facing him and his amazing new team going forward.
