PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Escanaba and its crew have returned home following a 52-day patrol of the Windward Passage and the Florida Straits.
Escanaba was deployed to support the Homeland Security Taskforce Vigilant Sentry Operation, which included protecting the lives of those at sea and stopping illegal migrant flow. While on patrol, the crew of the Escanaba conducted numerous surface to air assists that helped deter illegal migrant ventures bound for the United States. Welcome home!
