NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The second day of Harborfest was lively with games, tall ships, live music and more.

Some of the crowds of people in downtown Norfolk said they were loving the event.

“We love seeing all the ships and the food is great,” Heather Boyette said. “We love the shops. We went to trails and shores and got this hat, it’s a great hat I love it.”

President and CEO of Visit Norfolk Kurt Krause said the event is expected to bring in about $5 million.

“Our Harborfest generally has about a little over 6,000, maybe 6,500, rooms that are occupied during that time frame which is equivalent to the same amount of people that come to the MEAC tournament,” Krause said.

He told 10 On Your Side that the event also generated thousands of jobs.

“The direct jobs that are required to put on this event are just under 2,000 jobs over that three-day period of time,” Krause said.

The long list of fun events combined with the great weather had people looking forward to spending another day at Harborfest tomorrow.

“Especially with everybody coming out and enjoying everything that’s out here. It’s a nice place to be,” Bryan Boyette said.

The last day of Harborfest is tomorrow, Sunday starting at 10 a.m.
