PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Stop! Big news for Jane’s Addiction fans. They are returning to Hampton Roads to perform.

The band is coming to the Atlantic Union Bank Pavilion in Portsmouth on Thursday, September 5. It’s one stop on their North American Tour with rock band Love & Rockets.

The Grammy-nominated Alternative rock and metal band began in 1985 and is known for songs including, “Jane Says”, “Been Caught Stealing”, “Mountain Song” and “Just Because”.

All of the band’s original band members will be present on the tour: lead singer Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Eric Avery.

A historical look back at the Jane’s Addiction tour schedule shows the band has visited Hampton Roads on several occasions. So while there’s ‘Nothing Shocking’ about them returning, it’s been a while since their last stop here. They performed at the Boathouse in Norfolk in October 1988 and must have loved the venue so much they returned the following February and again in November 1990. They returned to Hampton Roads years later. In June 2009, fans got to see them at the then nTelos Wireless Pavilion in Portsmouth. Now named the Atlantic Union Bank Pavilion, this is where they will be come this September.

Right now, the band is on the European leg of their tour.
