Hampton

Downtown Hampton Block Party

Saturday nights this summer; July 13 from 6-10 p.m. in Downtown Hampton at the intersection of Kings Way and Queens Way

The block party is bringing music to Hampton this summer. The event starts at 6 p.m. This weekend, Slapnation will begin at 6:30 p.m. and play until 9:30 p.m. Alcohol and food will be available from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be a DJ on-site each week. The event is free and open to the public. Next weekend will feature Brasswind.

Groovin’ By The Bay

Sunday nights this summer; July 14 from 5-8 p.m. at Mill Point Park

Get ready for TFC Band! This Sunday, July 14, they will play for free. Concerts are free and open to the public. Food vendors will be on-site. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on during the show. Free parking is available in the Hampton University garage.

Norfolk

Norfolk Taco Festival

Saturday, July 13 – Sunday, July 14 at Waterside District

The 6th Annual Norfolk Taco Festival is here. Over the weekend, visit Waterside District to try over 28 taco and food vendors and over 80 different styles of tacos. There will be multiple margarita bars, silent disco headphone party, free kids fun zone, mechanical bull riding and more. Live entertainment will also be on-site from live bands to dancers to DJs. Tickets are required and available for purchase.

Adult Night at the Virginia Zoo (21+)

Saturday, July 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Virginia Zoo

Don’t miss the adults-evening out at the Virginia Zoo. Walk along trails and exhibits while the zoo is open late. There will be drinks, a DJ, food trucks, games and more. Exhibit trails will be open until 7:30 p.m. Tickets are required. Click here to purchase tickets and find out more information.

COVA Print Fair

Sunday, July 14 from 1-5 p.m. at The Plot

Studio Shift and The NEON District present the Coastal Virginia Print Fair. It will showcase contemporary printmaking, showcasing local printmakers and highlighting original print collections. There will be exhibitions, gallery talks, interactive activities and more. It is free and open to the public.

COVA’s Gone Country Summer Series

Saturday, July 13 starting at 5 p.m. at COVA Brewing Company

COVA’s Gone Country Series is featured this July. Jackson Grant will play from 6-9 p.m. Line dancing will start at 5 p.m. Shows continue on July 20 and July 27. It is free and open to the public.

Suffolk

Suffolk’s TGIF Summer Concert is cancelled due to weather on Friday, July 12. The series will continue at Bennetts Creek Park Rd. featuring The Deloreans on Friday, July 26.

Suffolk cancels the 50 Fest Celebration on Saturday, July 13 due to weather. It will be rescheduled for Saturday, August 3 at 5 p.m.

Virginia Beach

Live On The Lawn

Friday, July 12 at 5:30 p.m. at TASTE, 4097 Shore Drive

Rob Oliver takes the stage, continuing the summer concert series. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and get ready for the music, food and more. Enjoy burgers and hot dogs on the grill, as well as local craft beer, wine tastings, vendors popups and more. Admission is free and open to the public.

Beyond Monet: The Immersive Experience

Through Sept. 5 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center (closed Monday and Tuesday)

Back after the “Beyond Van Gogh” success, projection technology and an original score bring Claude Monet’s paintings to life on the walls and floors of the convention center. See 400 of Monet’s works in the immersive experience that cycles throughout the day. Tickets are required for the event. Click here to find out more.

Reggae Fest

Saturday, July 13 from 6-10 p.m. at Smartmouth, Virginia Beach Pilot House

Visit Smartmouth Brewing Co. location at the Oceanfront for live music, cold drinks and food by Chelsea Bakehouse. The Crop Circle food truck will be on-site. The show is free and open to all ages. Click here to find out more.

Thursday, July 11 at 8:30 p.m. on 29th Street at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront

Beach Blanket Cinema presents Wonka. Watch the movie right on the sand. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and beach chairs. The family movie night is free and open to the public. Movies are showing each week, click here to see the schedule.
