NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Opening in 1965, the Monitor-Merrimac Overlook Park has become a popular destination for Newport News residents.
This tucked away gem includes a beach, fishing pier and historical markers describing the epic naval battle of the Monitor and Merrimack.
Monitor-Merrimac Overlook Park is open seven days a week from sunrise to sunset.
