WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s military outreach efforts will continue by offering free admission to all active-duty military, reservists, veterans, retirees, National Guard members and their immediate dependents on Nov. 8-11.

Besides offering free admission to military families, Colonial Williamsburg will host a Veterans Day Proclamation in partnership with the Williamsburg Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution on Palace Green on Monday, Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. A Veterans Day Salute & Procession will kick off later in the day at 3:30 p.m. at the Capitol Circle and conclude with a commemoration ceremony behind the Courthouse on Market Square.

The day will come to a close with “Salute to the Heros,” which is a bagpipe performance from the roof deck of the Govenor’s Palace at 4:40 p.m.

Retired and active military personnel alongside their families are also invited to visit the Liberty Lounge during their visit. Complimentary refreshments will be offered, and it allows fellow service men and women to connect.

Tickets are available through Colonial Williamsburg’s “Honoring Service to America” program, which was made possible due to a $100,000 grant from The Home Depot Foundation. It’s part of the foundation’s ongoing commitment to improving the homes and lives of U.S. military veterans and their families.
