VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The Something in the Water 2020 lineup was officially released Thursday, and it’s got some big names.

The festival is returning for its second year in the resort city after a highly successful year one.

General admission tickets and VIP passes for the event went on sale Saturday at noon. Presale tickets for the event sold out quick earlier this fall.

Chance the Rapper, Usher, Migos, H.E.R., the Foo Fighters, Post Malone and more are coming for the highly-anticipated sequel at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

Other acts include Trey Songz, Clipse, Tyler, the Creator, Wale and the Backyard Band and A$AP Rocky.

And don’t forget the man behind it all, Virginia Beach native Pharrell Williams. He’s bringing back his “Pharrell and Friends” set in 2020.

The lineup was announced simultaneously at Virginia Beach’s 12 high schools.

Students at Princess Anne High, Pharrell’s alma mater, were very excited to be the first to know.

Senior George Amazeen was also pumped about one artist in particular.

“He released a masterpiece album called ‘Die Lit” I am very excited to hear it — it is the most beautiful thing ever, and I’m Playboi Carti’s biggest fan,” he said.

His 90-minute-long song “Friends” set last year included Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, Snoop Dogg, Diddy, Usher and more.

It’s not clear who might join Pharrell in 2020’s “Friends” group, but it’s safe to say Clipse (Virginia Beach’s Pusha T and No Malice) and Tyler, the Creator will probably make an appearance.

Remember, Jay-Z and Tyler, the Creator were surprises at the first Something in the Water last year.

The festival will also feature the return of the popular pop-up church service on Sunday.

General admission 3-day passes start at $195 with fees, with 3-day VIP passes starting at $550 with fees. The event is also selling a new “Yellow Zone” pass this year, featuring exclusive viewing areas at the front of each stage, a backstage beach patio area and more.

The week-long Something in the Water Festival is scheduled for April 20 – 26, with music on the beach from Friday, April 24 to Sunday, April 26. Other events earlier in the week, a new addition for 2020, will feature the “brightest minds from the culinary world, technology, environmental sustainability, health & wellness, media and more.”
