PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Even though he was born a “Turner,” this week’s “I am Hampton Roads” didn’t discover his current hobby until he was approaching retirement. Now, taking discarded hunks of wood and literally turning them into bowls, ornaments, and other pieces brings him more joy than he ever imagined and keeps him close to home sweet home.
