PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — For this I Am Hampton Roads feature, we head to Joint Base Langley Eustis to meet Senior Airman Jasmine Blount. She shares more about her role as a Religious Affairs Airman and how, she said, she found her purpose in the Air Force.
Originally from Colorado, she grew up in a family full of Air Force veterans. After attending college for one year, she decided to enlist in the Air Force, herself. Initially, she wasn’t sure what job she wanted to pursue, but once she learned about Religious Affairs, she knew her strong faith upbringing would help her make a difference in that role.
She works to provide mental and spiritual guidance to airmen and their families, regardless of religious affiliation. That guidance and support helps them be able to focus on their mission. It’s a job that takes strength, positivity, and a high moral character, and one that SrA Blount calls an honor.
