PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and all month long, we are highlighting non-profit organizations and shelters that are helping break the cycle of domestic violence and supporting abuse victims. The Samaritan House in Virginia Beach has helped individuals and families free themselves from domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual assault and homelessness in Hampton Roads for the past 40 years. Kate Celius and Michael Beane joined us with more on the services they offer.
