PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Since 1979, Echoes of Time in Virginia Beach has been a treasure for those who love dressing up. The family-run, female-owned small business is the largest year-round costume shop in Hampton Roads.
It began as an antique store founded by Evie Myatt. She was later joined in the business by her daughter, Cathy DeBolt. Cathy used her retail background to grow and evolve the store as it honed its focus on vintage clothing and costumes.
For the past 15 years, they’ve been dressing the HRS team for Halloween and for this week’s I Am Hampton Roads, Cathy shared more about how Echoes of Time has changed over time and her hopes for the future.
