Locally, we are going to have some great weather for a while! Dry air has moved into the region. It’s actually some super dry air for mid-late August. Dew points have fallen to the 40s and 50s with a couple of 60s.
A cold front is sinking to our south. It will stall out today. High pressure is building in from the northwest.
We’ll have lots of sunshine today with high temps in the mid-upper 70s.
There will be a north breeze at 8-12mph. The dryness will make it feel like it’s early Fall. Tomorrow morning our low temps will be mostly in the 50s. We’ll have a couple of 60s near the shore, but we also could have a few upper 40s far inland. Wow! Then we’ll warm up through the day into the upper 70s.
We’ll stay dry and mild for the rest of the week. We’ll only warm up a little over the weekend.
Enjoy the nice weather!
The ECSC surf competition is this week with the big events next weekend. We’ll have some nice weather overhead, but unfortunately, we won’t have much surf.
Ernesto is no longer a tropical system. It became post-tropical yesterday. We should have quiet weather in the tropics for a few days.
I wanted to look at this national story a bit longer before I posted. There was terrible and historic flooding up in the northeast last Sunday night into Monday. This was as a cold front ran into some of the tropical humidity along the east coast. Some of the storms stalled out and put down more than 10 inches of rainfall over parts of Connecticut. Many roads are washed out. Here are some flooding photos from our sister station WTNH.
