Update Monday Afternoon:
We’re in for a roller coaster ride of weather this week! Temperatures will climb to spring standards over the next few days before crashing back to reality on the back half of the week.
Expect a passing shower or two tonight as clouds increase into a warmer day tomorrow. We’ll notice a warm breeze develop out of the southwest tomorrow to keep out temperatures up near 70°. It’ll be a cloudier day with a few passing showers by the late afternoon and evening, but a nice warm day nonetheless.
The wind will crank on Wednesday out of the southwest, gusting to 35+mph! This will boost our temperatures into the 70s by the afternoon. We can expect a few passing showers throughout the day, but our big rain chances come crashing in as a strong cold front blasts through the region Wednesday night. As of now, we’ll anticipate rain to race in after sunset and take us through the late night hours. Winds will remain strong, and there could be a brief rumble of thunder.
Rain looks to move out Thursday morning as the cool winter air returns. Some potential rain chances return Friday & Saturday as well.

We just came off of the weekend, and it felt like February. We only topped off in the low-mid 40s in the metro with some upper 40s inland.
The daily dog-walk was a little rough. Pun intended… Ahem. So today we will finally start to warm up for a little while. We have high pressure centered just to our southeast. This has allowed our surface winds to turn out of the southwest.
Winds will stay steady out of the southwest today. They will run at 5-15mph. Also, we’ll be partly cloudy for a long stretch. So temperatures will quickly rise to the 50s and then the low-mid 60s.
It should be very nice out for a while. However, some isolated showers will be possible between the late afternoon and early evening.
It’s pretty dry at the surface. So I don’t expect too much. This is basically from a moisture push. Any showers that form will go away tonight. We’ll start off Tuesday with dry weather. Temps will start off in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees. We’ll be partly cloudy for a long stretch. The wind will increase even more out of the southwest. Winds will gust up to 25mph.
This will push our high temps up to near 70 degrees.
It should be very nice out for a while outside of the breeze. Look at the temps to our west. There likely be a lot of records broken over the eastern 2/3rds of the country. They will likely be in the 90s over parts of Texas. However, look at the temps in Montana. Billings will be down to near 20 degrees…for highs. Wow!
On Wednesday we’ll have a lot more moisture in the region. It won’t be muggy, but you will notice a difference.
We’ll have more clouds overall along with the increased moisture. There will probably be some scattered rain showers in the morning.
This will likely move out for a while. Then we’ll have a few showers again later in the day. Meanwhile, a big line of showers (and possible thunderstorms) will be moving in from the west.
This line of rain will move through in the later evening. That will be along a cold front. The front will move through Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. We’ll have a lot of rain through that time.
Then the rain should move out by later Thursday morning. Temps are going to have a wild swing. They will be in the low-mid 70s on Wednesday. Then they’ll drop to the upper 40s to low 50s on Thursday.
The weather will be a little active for a while. Get ready for some big swings in temperatures. There will also, probably, be more rainy days ahead.
With the warmer temperatures we’ll also see an increase in pollen levels. It will go up to moderate levels today, and it will stay moderate for the next couple of days. The breezy conditions may mix it out though. So it may not feel as bad as the forecast levels in the afternoons. It’s mostly tree pollen, but mold is also an issue lately.
