This morning we had a big shot of unseasonably cold air in the region. Skies were clear and winds went calm. We were also very dry, but there was enough moisture for a little frost. So we bottomed out in the low-mid inland with upper 30s and low 40s in the metro.
We have a large area of high pressure overhead. This helped to produce the clear skies and light winds.
Today we’ll have lots of sunshine. Winds will be light and out of the west. Then they will be light and turn out of the east. High temps will warm up fast. That is also partly due to very dry air. So we’ll aim for the upper 60s to low 70s later this afternoon.
It will be a fast warmup. So dress in layers.
Tonight won’t be nearly as cold. Low temps will be in the low-mid 50s. We’ll have fair skies, but we’ll also develop a southwest breeze overnight. Clouds will increase by tomorrow morning.
During the day tomorrow we will have a mix of sun and clouds. There will be a broken line of rain showers moving through between the late morning and early afternoon.
The showers will be more spotty during the late afternoon, and they should wrap up by about 6-7pm. High temps will be in the low-mid 70s tomorrow.
There will be a breeze out of the southwest with gusts to 20mph. The wind will turn out of the north late in the day as a cold front swipes through the region. This front is going to cool us down on Thursday. High temps will only be near 60 degrees despite a lot of sunshine.
We’ll be dry and cool on Friday with high temps in the mid 60s. Luckily we’ll warm up over the weekend. High temps will be in the low 70s on Saturday.
We’ll be in the upper 70s on Sunday. We may even hit 80. We’ll see. For now I’m only expecting some isolated showers on Saturday. Otherwise the weekend looks dry….for now.
Speaking of rain.. we are down about 1.3″ of rainfall for the month so far.
It rained all day last Sunday, but it was light all day. We have had some warm and cool streaks this month. We are now in a cool streak.
In fact, the bay temperature has actually dropped again. Now it’s in the upper 50s.
