The weather was pretty pleasant for Mother’s Day. Most of the area had fair skies. There were some spotty showers north of the metro, but they were very isolated. High temps were in the 70s, and the humidity was low.
Today we’ll continue with the dry conditions. It will be very nice out with lots of sunshine and mild afternoon temperatures. However, this morning it was chilly. Temps started in the 40s and 50s. Temps are rising fast. We were already in the 60s in some places by 8am. Temps will warm to the mid-upper 70s by the afternoon.
We are going to have a lot of sunshine today. High pressure is just offshore with a stationary front to our south.
The air is very dry. Dew points started in the 40s, but they are rising into the 50s.
Pollen is not bad. Tree pollen is low, and grass pollen is moderate. So head outside if you can because the rain will be movin in tomorrow. On Tuesday we’ll have a lot of moisture pushing up into the region, but there won’t be any large surface features around. There will be a low to our west inching closer to us. We’ll have lots of clouds all day, but we’ll only have some isolated showers in the morning. Rain will increase as we head into the early afternoon.
Along with the increasing rain showers there will be a few thunderstorms possible later in the day along with some heavy downpours. This will go into the evening hours.
Rain will be on and off through Wednesday morning. This could impact the early part of the morning commute. However, the rain should taper off by 8-10am. It should be fairly quiet for a while. However, some rain may return later Wednesday depending on which model you trust.
Either way there will be some rain on Wednesday. It may just be early and late in the day. High temps will be in the upper 70s.
The humidity will be up Tuesday and Wednesday, but it will drop Thursday and Friday.
We could pick up about a half inch to an inch of rain. Some of the wetter models have 1-2 inches.
Thursday and Friday should be nice. High temps will be in the 70s on Thursday and near 80 on Friday. There may be some more rain next Saturday. I’ll talk more about that in tomorrow’s weather blog.
